Make a Difference

Did you know that less than 4% of elementary schools offer theatre instruction?

Earlier this year, a group of experienced theatre artists and educators founded National Children’s Theatre to champion research-based theatre education programs that help our kids shine, after being encouraged by families dismayed at having to commute long and far for theatre activities. Based in Capitol Hill and serving schools and communities in the DMV, National Children’s Theatre offers camps, classes, and performances for ages 3-18: our students are the stars.

Since beginning programming in August 2025, we have had 160 Conservatory program registrations and awarded 18 scholarships worth $4,840 to families. We are committed to providing opportunities to every student who wants to participate, regardless of their ability to pay tuition fees. Fall classes for ages 3-11 sold out with waitlists. Additionally, 165 children are engaged through our School Programs.

Your financial contributions are needed to grow our reach and double our impact. National Children’s Theatre must raise $10,000 by December 31 to offer more programming in 2026. Please consider supporting us in our efforts to serve more children with the transformative power of theatre education: increased communication skills and confidence, empathy for others, and reading comprehension, among other benefits.

Thank you for your generosity.
